Bamboo U 2023: A Year In Reflection!

Happy New Year! 🎉

As we stand on the cusp of 2024, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support throughout 2023. Your engagement and interest propels Bamboo U forward, and we can't wait to share the exciting journey that lies ahead.

You can bend bamboo using heat 🤸. It's not easy, but it's possible!

We built our very first building using heat-bent bamboo: The Kul Kul Farm Kitchen. Crafted using small diameter bamboo harvested from the farm, built with students during the 11 Day Build & Design Course.

Bamboo Yurts are our favorite buildings to build with students!

This year we built 5 bamboo yurts including 2 mud and bamboo yurts. We’re dreaming of turning everything we’ve learned and mastered into an online course. Stay Tuned!

You can build a bamboo structure using no drawings, just augmented reality!

This 20 meter diameter bamboo dome kept us awake at night, but it's coming together beautifully and we’re excited to share the final result.

Relocating an entire campus is not easy but it's doable!! 👏🏽

This year we began building a kitchen, a workshop space, and 9 new accommodation units!! 💦 Our first full course back at the farm is set for March 22nd, excited to show you all we’ve been working on. The farm is as beautiful as ever. Food gardens, more privacy, a beautiful kitchen, dining hall, and kickass workshop space.
